One Hole at a Time- Reese Anderson

Starting golfing last year, sophomore Reese Anderson has become a star on the Girls Varsity Golf team at Valley Christian High School. Anderson has been playing golf since she was a little kid, but she started seriously playing her freshman year. She was introduced to golf by her brother and her dad, and would often join them while they played. Anderson’s favorite school golf course is Skylinks.

“ I like Skylinks because it’s close to home. My favorite out of school course is called Trilogy in Palm Desert, La Quinta,” said Anderson. With Valley’s home golf course, Skylinks, so close to her home, her biggest supporter on the course can cheer for her.

“My biggest supporter on the course is probably my mom. She always comes to my matches if she’s free, and always watches me and supports me. She asks me how I’m doing throughout each hole,” Anderson said. With great support on the side, she explained how she handles bad shots.

“I try not to think about if I hit a bad shot, I just try to think about the next one and what I’m going to do better and how I can improve it,” explained Anderson. Looking at her stats this season, ‘bad shots’ do not seem to be a worry. With her amazing scores with the Golf team’s 16-0 record, she’s a reliable weapon on the team, and has some consistent strategy with club choice.

“The best club in my bag is my 9 iron.” Anderson stated, “ It’s my most consistent and I always hit it well.”.

“It has been really fun and has been an amazing experience to get to know the other players on the Girls golf team, especially people in different grades.’’

Through hard work and consistent play, Anderson continues to make an impact on the girls’ golf team. Whether she is focusing on improving her game or enjoying time with her teammates, she makes the most of every moment. As the season continues, Anderson looks forward to building her success, one hole at a time.
